For over 50 years professional underwater filmmakers have been using rebreathers to make breathtaking underwater documentaries.
In the fifties Austrian underwater filmmakers Hans and Lotte Hass were using the Dräger Gegenlung rebreather to achieve worldwide fame with their pioneering films.
Today one of the world’s finest underwater cinematographers Howard Hall and his team are using the Biomarine 15.5 rebreather and have established worldwide recognition with their films.
Rebreathers allow film teams to dive for extended periods and enable them to take advantage of bubble-free diving to create film shoots where most underwater videographers would only dream of filming.
At Beyond Scuba we have established an underwater cinematography school using the best equipment; the Voyager Rebreather and the Sony HDR-HC7 digital high definition camera with the Seatool housing, one of the world’s most compact housings, turning underwater filming into a rewarding and straightforward experience.
