Rebreather Courses

There are five progressive training levels for the Voyager rebreather. We offer all recreational levels. Each level requires an upgrade to the system and a specific training course. Experience at all levels is necessary in order to be eligible for the next level of training. Our instructors are approved by IATA (SCR and CCR) and PADI (only SCR) to certify divers on the Voyager rebreather system.
Courses are available in English  French  Dutch  and German

R.E.B. 1 – Rebreather Experience Basic 1

Overview
This experience program (not a certification course) is to provide the certified diver with minimum training and experience and give an orientation to the Voyager rebreather.

It consists in some basic theory and a 45min Voyager semi closed rebreather dive with a 40% Nitrox mix to a maximum depth of 15 metres/50 feet.

It is achieved in one day and ideal for all persons who wants to try out a rebreather without undertaking the full course.

Prerequisites for SCR: To enrol on the Voyager Rebreather experience program individuals must be at least 18 years-old prior to the start date of the course, be a certified PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent and  Nitrox Diver and have at least 30 logged dives.

R.E.B. 2 – Rebreather Experience Basic 2

Overview
This experience program (not a certification course) provides the certified diver with minimum training and experience and gives a more large orientation to the Voyager rebreather but will give credit towards the Voyager SCR course.

It consists in some basic theory and two 45min Voyager semi closed rebreather dives with a 40% Nitrox mix to a maximum depth of 18 metres/60 feet.

It is achieved in a day and a half and ideal for all persons who wants to try out a rebreather, dive with it during several days without undertaking the full course.

Prerequisites for SCR: To enrol on the Voyager Rebreather experience program individuals must be at least 18 years-old prior to the start date of the course, be a certified PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent and  Nitrox Diver and have at least 30 logged dives.

SCR VOYAGER REC DIVER

Overview
This course provides the training you need to begin diving with a semi-closed configuration to a depth of 30 metres/100 feet with a no-stop dive profile. Course content includes basic rebreather theory (physics and physiology), operational procedures, Voyager modular configurations, maintenance and emergency procedures.

Prerequisites for SCR: To enrol on the Voyager Rebreather course individuals must be at least 18 years-old prior to the start date of the course, be a certified PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent and  Nitrox Diver and have at least 30 logged dives.
The material taught in a basic Nitrox course is absolutely essential to understanding and using a rebreather system. As it may have been some time since your Nitrox course all students are required to complete an entry-level exam to assess your practical knowledge prior to starting the SCR course.

System Configuration: Semi-closed circuit, fixed fraction pre set Nitrox flow prior to the dive; electronic monitoring of inhaled mix using an oxygen analyzer and/or dive computer equipped with oxygen sensor

Maximum Operating Limit: All nitrox mixes, maximum depth of 30 metres/100 feet within the no-decompression time limit

Course Duration: Approximately 4 days
                                 14 hours of theory
                                  2 confined water sessions
6 open water dives (we will give you 6 dives although standards require
only 3 dives with a total bottom time of at least 120 minutes)

CCR VOYAGER REC DIVER

Prerequisites for CCR:
Voyager SCR certification with at least 15 logged SCR dives

System Configuration:
Closed-circuit with the ability to adjust the oxygen partial pressure during the dive; one tank for oxygen and one for diluent (air), electronic monitoring of inhaled mix using an oxygen analyzer and/or dive computer equipped with oxygen sensor

Maximum Operating Limit: Multiple fraction mix containing nitrogen-oxygen (Nitrox), with a maximum operating partial pressure of 1.2 bar, mechanical and manual controls; maximum depth of 40 metres/132 feet within the no-decompression time limit

Course Duration: Approximately 4 days
                                8 hours of theory
                                1 confined water session
6 open water dives (we will give you 6 dives although standards require
only 3 dives with a total bottom time of at least 150 minutes)

*Note: the PADI Nitrox course and the DSAT Gas Blender course are not sold separately but always in combination with a rebreather course.

Students should bring the following:
  • Certification cards and logbooks
  • Dive equipment (mask, snorkel, fins and wetsuit)
  • Nitrox compatible diving computer (preferable wrist mounted)
  • Medical statement no older than 3 months signed by a physician (download)

Preparation:

  • Review your Nitrox student manual, a basic nitrox knowledge taught in your nitrox course is essential to understanding and using a rebreather system.
